InfoMart, a nationally recognized and WBENC-certified background screening provider, is proud to announce that it has been named to Workforce Magazine’s Hot List of Professional Background Checking Providers. 2016 marks the eleventh consecutive year that the nationwide magazine, a publication of integrated media giant Human Capital Management (HCM), has recognized InfoMart on its respected list.

Workforce Magazine’s accompanying article, “The Increasingly Important Role of Screening in Recruiting,” highlights some of the main areas of concern for employers in the ever-changing screening industry. For one, the article points out that professional screeners must provide agile user and candidate experiences that streamline and support the recruitment process. For another, automation and experience should not detract from superior compliance practices and customer service and should address emerging employment trends such as contingent labor.

According to Workforce Magazine’s article: “In 2015, the U.S. Labor Department found that 65 percent of employers anticipate an increase in the use of flexible staffing arrangements to meet their future talent needs, and consultancy Ardent Partners anticipates that 50 percent of the workforce will be contingent by 2020. Yet, less than half of organizations screen these workers, which exposes them to increased risks of negligence, fraud, theft, and violence.”

These concerns will challenge employers to review their background screening policies and take a hard look at the capabilities and experience of providers in the coming years. As the contingent workforce grows and employers seek to quickly and safely fill openings with talented employees, they will seek to speed recruitment while mitigating risk by enlisting experienced and trusted screeners.

“We’ve seen a huge increase in contingent workforce screening over the last several years, both across the background checking industry as well as within InfoMart,” says InfoMart Founder & CEO, Tammy Cohen. “Companies are generally slow to implement screening programs, but staffing organizations are taking a lead in finding the value of having a screened workforce.”

It can be difficult for employers to meet hiring goals while also ensuring they comply with federal and state laws, and it can seem daunting to sort through an expanding network of screening providers to find the best fit. This is why respected employment resources like HCM continue to publish lists of companies that utilize best practices — to assist companies in finding the most effective solution.

“Workforce Magazine does a great job of keeping up with screening trends and updating their ‘Hot List,’” says Ms. Cohen. “The screening companies on the list have changed dramatically through the years, but InfoMart is one of the only honorees consistently recognized year after year. This demonstrates to me that our team is listening to our client’s needs.”

For more than a decade, Workforce Magazine’s annual list has provided a reliable benchmark against which to compare professional screeners so that employers can make informed decisions regarding their choice in a screening partner. Combined with the Professional Background Screening Association’s Organization Directory that tracks membership and accreditation within the industry, the annual Hot List provides employers with a reliable starting point for their screening vendor deliberations.
