Improve Your Turnaround Time
To assist our clients in receiving results of their background checks in a timely manner, InfoMart has the following suggestions:
- The Signed Release (AKA: Disclosure and Consent Form) should be sent to InfoMart as soon as possible, preferably upon initial request. Any delay in receiving the release is likely to cause a delay in returning the completed report to you. Please ensure that this release is signed by the applicant. The release gives the client and InfoMart "permissible purpose" to conduct the background check. Some criminal jurisdictions, many schools and various employers will not release any information without first seeing this release.
- Ensure that all information needed for a request is included in the initial communication to InfoMart. If education verifications are requested, be sure to include all the necessary information, such as the name and location of the school. Applicants sometimes have attended schools under different or maiden names, and having this information is vital to a successful and timely confirmation of attendance. Many schools have satellite campuses. It is helpful for InfoMart to know which campus was attended, as many schools house their records only at these remote locations.
- When employment verification is requested, please provide the employer's name, address and telephone number. Also helpful is the name of the applicant's former supervisor. InfoMart typically cannot confirm an applicant's employment if the applicant was a temporary employee from a staffing agency. We must confirm the employment with the actual employer. For example, if an applicant was placed at The Acme Company but was being paid by XYZ Staffing Agency, InfoMart would need the contact information for XYZ Staffing Agency.
- If requesting a drug test, include the Specimen ID Number (AKA: Confirmation or Requisition number) with the request. This number is bar-coded on the chain of custody form and is the only piece of data that consistently follows a specimen from collection site to InfoMart. This number is essential for tracking the test and reporting results back to you. Also, a request for a drug test must be made before InfoMart can provide the results. Please request a drug test through WebASAP prior to sending the applicant to be tested.
We hope that this information proves useful to you. Should you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to call the InfoMart Client Relations Team at 1-800-800-3774, Option 2.
